
Annual FIJET Congress serves as a valuable way to get members together from different countries, to make decisions that help shape FIJET and its future. All seeking to improve and grow their national organisations and FIJET activities, share best practices and build valuable tourism connections.
The International Federation of Journalists and Writers on tourism FIJET chosen the city of FES-MEKNES in the kingdom of Morocco for its 2025 Congress, what was held between 18-24 November, 2025.
The congress was hosted by the University of Fez, a leading institution of higher education in Africa and the Mediterranean region, among the best universities in the world. After the opening speech, Najib Zerouali,the honorary president and representative of FIJET in Morocco welcomed the participants to this congress
On behalf of FIJET Tijani Haddad, the President extended our warmest thanks for the outstanding organization of the FIJET Congress held in Fez, under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. Thanks to the quality of the program, the remarkable hospitality, and the commitment of AMJET-FIJET, this edition has once again demonstrated Morocco’s excellence in hosting major international events.
The president of FIJET, Tijani Haddad, was unable to attend the congress despite his strong desire to be there. However, connected by videoconference for the opening speech, he began his speech by expressing his gratitude to King Mohammed VI of Morocco and thanking the Moroccan Ministry of Tourism, Mr. Najib ZEROUALI and Najib SENHADJI as well as the administration of the University of Fez and all the participants for their contribution to the congress.
On behalf of Fijet, he extended big thanks to organizer speakers , the president of the University Council of the UEMF (Euromed University of Morocco), which hosted the congress and briefly introduced the event, highlighting the importance of Morocco among African countries, as well as to the mayor of Tarsus, Ali Boltaç, the guest speaker.
We also extend our sincere appreciation to all participating nations for their presence, dedication, and spirit of collaboration throughout the congress. Delegations from America, Austria, Bahrain, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Greece, Italy, Morocco, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Tunisia, and Türkiye all contributed to making this event an important milestone for our profession. The number of participants were over than 150.
National Associations active participation, insightful discussions, conferences, and knowledge sharing have greatly enriched the sessions and strengthened the ties between our federations and countries.
We once again congratulate and thank the organizers, as well as all international delegates. We will all keep a memorable impression of this prestigious edition held in Fez, a city of culture, heritage, and international influence.
During the Congress, The meeting of the Board of Directors and General Assembly were held, adopting 2026 PLan of Activities, many decisions, proposals and ikdeas. The main theme of the congress was “Tourism and Media: what relationship, what future”, organizing The forum entitled “Tourism and its relations with the media: prospects for the future and actions to be taken”. The speakers addressed the contribution of sport and gastronomy to tourism. Representatives from many countries took the floor, stressing the importance of this annual congress for journalists and editors specializing in tourism, which allows for fruitful exchanges.
With a focus on innovating and building FIJET, we bring together everything best available, connects members with host industry leaders, explore sustainable tourism trends, and shape the future of global travel and media.
FIJET will always fulfill its duty to support and promote Congress Host Country , this time Morocco, such an exceptional destination.
