FIJET 2025 New Year’s Message

Building Tourism Bridges Since 1954 and Making a Difference in Today’s Tourism World

During the  Fijet Congress what was held on Costa Pacifica  Cruise , in a heartfelt New Year message delivered to fellow journalists, media practitioners, and partners, Tijani  Haddad, the  President expressed both optimism and reflection  steps into 2025. Reflecting on the past year, he highlighted the resilience and commitment demonstrated by the National Associations and its media in the world, as  a testament to our collective resilience and commitment to tourism  media development in  the field of tourism. Despite all these achievements, the President  acknowledged that challenges remain as well as  the need for ethical standards. As the Federation, we remain committed to addressing these issues through dialogue, consultation, advocacy, and collaboration with all members.

The FIJET is the world’s oldest  association of travel journalists, writers , making a difference in today’s  tourism world.The Federation also works closely with a wide range of travel and tourism industry partners in the  world. FIJET  and its journalists celebrate the difference in cultures and communities while forging an ever closer bond between them.

Building on the success of previous years Fijet proudly invite   all members  to  follow  world media travel journalism trends  and participate  its activities and projects, tailored for tourism industry professionals with the moto “Working  together and shape the future of the  travel industry”.

EC and Board of Directors  Meetings  are Fijet  cornerstone, to inspire ideas, share insights and discuss the trends and challenges affecting our Federation.  EC  is planned to be held in spring of this year.

Looking ahead, the Board of Directors  identified 2025 as a year of potential growth and innovation. Board of Directors adopted Fijet  plans to  improve media professionalism, and explore sustainable  models for public interest journalism.

As our members form a dynamic community of tourism media professionals and tourism professionals in media communication Fijet  will  continue to  collaborate across borders to elevate the quality and impact of tourism communication worldwide.

Fijet International  Media Forum, the new Fijet project  will be launched this year as the  global networking event connecting the travel industry with editors, journalists, broadcasters and influencers, planned to be held in Tunisia, in spring 2025.

Celebrating its 70th year in 2025, Fijet will   held  the unmissable event for Fijet   National  Associations and travel media  to connect and nurture relationships in Turkiye,  early spring

Our members working across traditional print and electronic media, our content reaches audiences throughout the world. We gather for fall Congress  each year, fostering connections that generate compelling stories and provide valuable exposure for our host sites.

The YJA provides an unmissable opportunity for anyone who wants to be a journalist, but doesn’t have any way in.The Young Journalists’ Academy (YJA) as a unique programme for young people to inspire and train them for  the newsmakers of tomorrow. In partnership with one  of the National Associations organisations, the FYJA 2025  will give once again  aspiring young journalists  and students the skills and the contacts they need to kick-start their careers in the travel  media.

Golden Apple Award “La Pomme d’Or” or “The Golden Apple” is the FIJET equivalent of the Oscar. This award for excellence is presented each year to an organization, country, city, or person. One of the awards for excellence 2025  is planned to be  presented to the City of Ljubuski, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

International  Photo  Exhibition is a natural progression for amateurs and professionals to show the world their photographic work. It has the potential for sales, or finding future collaborations. Fijet  Internation Photo Exhibition organized by  Fijet Slovakia will  open its door   in Plestany, Slovakia in June 2025.

Our awards programs recognize excellence in travel journalism and highlight extraordinary travel experiences.Our membership includes award-winning travel writers, editors, columnists, photo journalists, reporters, broadcasters, book authors, bloggers and online content producers. Each year Fijet  Croatia   nominates international members for  the awards  “Antonio Conte” on  International Festival of Tourism, what will be held in Solin, Croatia, 13-16 November. The International  Event „Marco Polo 2025  for the best  reportages  will  be   held in  Zagreb, Croatia, at the begining of  December.

Membership  provides access to FIJET extensive international network, professional development opportunities, and global platforms for content sharing.

Our  membership   will  continue to be open for all  who  want  to represent  travel journalism and serve in tourism  promotion  more than just organizational affiliation,  to be loyal  to  Fijet  Federation and its  commitment.
