TUNISIA A STORY OF LONG CONNECTION

With great pride and heartfelt joy the long term President of Fijet always welcomed us to Tunisia — a land where history whispers through ancient ruins, where the Mediterranean breeze carries the scent of jasmine, and where the warmth of people is as enduring as the sun that shines upon tunisian shores.
So, Tunisia is more than a destination for Executive Committee members. It is a bridge between all of us and friendships are forged.
During our stay, we explored a rich heritage and natural beauty, tasted, worked and listened and felt a long connection specially at President Birthday Party with his family and guests whose whose hospitality is not a formality, but a way of life.
During our stay, The Minister of Tourism Tunisia, Mr.Soufiane Tekaya granted an audience to Fijet Executive Committee leaded by the President Tijani Haddad, one of the former Ministers of Tourism in Tunisia.
At the meeting, Tunisia Tourism minister Soufiane Tekaya said surpassing 11 million visitors validates policy choices made in recent years, including service-quality upgrades, faster digitalization, product diversification, and targeted support for high–value-added investment. “Performance today is not measured by volume alone, but by quality, competitiveness, and international positioning”, he said
Tekaya also emphasized sustainability, tourism animation, and the protection of cultural and intangible heritage, pointing to artificial intelligence as a planning and customer-experience tool that can boost efficiency while safeguarding jobs, investments.
Tunis as the “Arab Tourism Capital 2027” to bring a modernized image of Tunis.
As for Tunis -Arab Tourism Capital 2027, the minister stressed it is a unifying national project, not a symbolic title. It is built on a participatory approach to position the capital as a complete Arab destination blending history, urban modernity, and cultural energy, sport, medical and desert destinatinaton. Ongoing investments in infrastructure, site restoration, and a vibrant arts scene are reinforcing Tunis’s role on the regional and international stage. “ And the success of 2027 will depend also on strong media mobilization”, he pointed.
He thanked to Executive Committee members with the message that Tunisia remains committed to openness, peace, and cooperation, wishing us our time in Tunisia be filled with inspiration, friendship, and unforgettable memories.
