2025 Annual FIJET Slovakia Awards at Photo Photo Exhibition “Travel and  Emotions”, in Pieštany, Slovakia

7th International Photography Exhibition “Travel and Emotions” of Journalists and Authors  was opened this year with the subtitle “My (un) usual day”.The exhibition, which opened on June 26th, 2025, at the Balnea Esplanáde Hotel in Piešťany, in the spa island.  The exhibition is on view throughout the summer.

We live in an era where taking and sharing photographs is easy: phones are equipped with excellent cameras, countless social media channels are available for posting images, and a global audience awaits. So, what is the point of exhibiting photographs or visiting a photographic exhibition?

The Fijet  aimes to spotlight the  talents in the global photography landscape, celebrating the creativity and vision of travel journalists,photographers and photo lovers from the world, sharing the public with moments of beauty, emotion, and human stories captured through different photographic styles.Fijet Slovakia Photo Exhibition “Travel and Emotions” is an essential part of  Fijet photography culture, offering journalists and photographers the opportunity to present their work, share stories and engage in dialogue with audiences. By sharing stories and showing the world through the photographer’s lens, photo exhibitions, Fijet contributes to a deeper understanding and connection between people around the world.

The  selected photographs showed the diversity, beauty and  reality of life. Moments, experiences and stories what were in the focus of journalists, who have confirmed the magic of travel with their photographs.

The exhibition was the result of a competition from which the jury selected fifty-two photographs by nineteen authors from twelve countries. Also during the 7th year, the jury was chaired by PhDr. Marián Pauer, ESFIAP – photographer and theoretician, author of dozens of books on photography. In his online appearance, the chairman of the jury added: “Memories are a paradise from which no one will drive us out, so I wish you to find your place in that paradise through your photographs, so that we can meet and share our emotions in a year.”

The chairman of the jury, Marián Pauer, said that: …..”the highlight of this year’s edition is the collection of the Egyptian author Hossam Manadily called Egyptian Wheat Harvest. The seriousness of the family and its position in the social sphere is casually and spontaneously recalled by this photographer in three photographs in the story of a daughter, a son, a mother and a father. “

In the explanation of the president of the jury, dr. sc. Mariano Pauer (ESPIAF), it was pointed out that the jury made a unanimous decision on awarding the first prize for single photo  to Danijel  Koletic,Croatia  . It was emphasized that the value of the awarded photo lies not only in the technical and aesthetic performance, but also in the emotion that the author wants to convey with the photo.The compositional quality of the photograph was confirmed by Danijel Koletić from Croatia

Natural phenomena in the photographs of Paul Stach from Canada and Michaela Conzárová from Slovakia captured moments that only nature can create in cyclical periods or in extraordinary surprising moments.

Slovakia in the fairytale night sky was photographed by Zlatica Kramárová (Slovakia), the icy beauty of the symbiosis of nature and human creativity was shown by Miroslava Dulová (Slovakia).Capturing authentic emotions and feelings in all  photos wass the key to creating beautiful and  compelling images.
