World Tourism Day  Message: Tourism and Sustainable Transformation

World Tourism Day 2025, takes place  on 27th of September,  highlights tourism as a driver of sustainable, inclusive, and resilient transformation, on theme ” Tourism and sustainable Transformation” with a focus on the role of tourism in achieving long-term economic, social, and environmental sustainability.Tourism is a powerful driver of transformation.

At the same time, events are being organised around the globe. From workshops and forums to cultural initiatives, these celebrations demonstrate how World Tourism Day is more than a single gathering – it is a worldwide movement bringing together communities and travellers to shape a more sustainable future for tourism.

This year’s theme – “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation” – calls us to action.Our National associations and individuals  make Group activities, promoting effective messages on this year’s theme, or participate partners or  national celebrations.

Fijet and its members should always remind in media  the role of tourism as a driver of sustainable and resilient change, Tourism what connects people and places, strengthens local economies, and protects cultural and natural heritage. At the same time, tourism professionals and travel medias  must address challenges related to global warming, inequality, and overuse of resources to ensure a positive long-term impact, support tourism as an essential pillar  for Sustainable Development and medias  can help achieving .

Tourism is a powerful engine of opportunity. It creates jobs and strengthens bonds between people and places, reminding us of our shared humanity. Yet, it can also damage the very places and communities it celebrates. As the world faces climate breakdown,wars,crises and rising inequality, we need bold, urgent, and sustainable transformation that puts people and planet first.”

Today, and every day, let’s harness the power of tourism as a force for transformation, resilience, sustainability, and shared progress for all.
