Welcome Message to EC Members for the regular meeting in Tunisia, held 6-10 February, 2026
Tijani Haddad, the President addressed the Executive Committee just before the Meeting Schedule.
“With this in mind, I would like to begin by giving you a brief account of past year of Fijet activities, before setting out our plans for this year.
I\u2019m grateful for the chance to have you in Tunisia
Our meeting is a source of genuine pleasureas the President and your friend.
Imagine a community where every person\u2019s potential is nurtured, where no dream is too small, and no challenge is too great to overcome. That vision is not just a hope and wishes \u2014it is the reason we are existing 72 years in serving world tourism.
It is with deep gratitude and a sense of responsibility that I hold on the role of President of our non-profit association, till the next elections. I am proud that this organization has always stood for more than just programs and projects\u2014it stands for tourism people, friendships and media support for world tourism and its benefits, challenges and changes.
Our mission is clear: to serve, to empower, and to inspire with new ideas in tourism. But our journey is ongoing, and Fijet plans, the challenges ahead require us to be innovative, united, and unwavering in our commitment.
As President, my and EC priorities is as follows:
Strengthening our world tourism outreach \u2013 ensuring our media services reach those who need them most, institutions, partners and readers.
Building sustainable partnerships \u2013 collaborating with organizations that share our values on national and international levels;
Empowering all countries and its national associations and individuals \u2013 providing them with the press trips, Congresses, cooperation and tools, and recognitions they deserve.
Ensuring transparency and accountability \u2013 so every partner or national institutions know their contributions make a real difference.
We will measure our success not only in numbers, but in stories\u2014stories of tourism possibilities and benefits, media opportunities created, and media support of tourism sustainability.
I invite each of you to contribute to success of our plans. Whether through your time, your expertise, or your resources, your involvement is the heartbeat of our mission. Together, we can turn plans into action, and action into valuable change.

Let us make this year one of impact, unity and progress. We will start with Secretary General Informational Activity Reports and Progress Reports summarizing the status of ongoing projects or initiatives.
Our Treasurer will inform you about financial Reports: Detail budgets, expenditures, and financial health before planned audit committees.
You will give recommendation Reports, present proposals that require approval or a vote.
The key objectives of a Executive Committee for Board of Directors Decisions include:
Informing leadership or the board by providing clear updates on the committee\u2019s work, progress, and challenges.
Documenting decisions by recording recommendations, motions, or findings that need broader approval.
Demonstrating and presenting that committees have met, acted, and advanced its assigned responsibilities.
Supporting decision-making by giving the board or governing body the information they need to make informed actions.
Thank you for your trust, your support, and your belief in what we can achieve together”.
